If you stop breathing in your sleep and you are not significantly overweight this information can change your life!

words on a word map - breaking newsCentral Sleep Apnea is often misdiagnosed as obstructive when it is actually caused by PTSD.  Central Apnea is curable. There are many treatments for PTSD and trauma.  Dr. Drewry prefers to use Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).  EFT is also known as “tapping” to clear trauma out of the body and mind as quickly and effectively as possible. She has been using EFT for 18 years with ALL her clients, including those with sleep apnea.  EFT for sleep apnea clears the trauma that causes the apnea.

Most people believe there is only one type of sleep apnea – obstructive – which happens when tissues in the back of the throat collapse during sleep. The other type, Central Apnea occurs when the nervous system fails to signal the body to breathe.

Central Sleep Apnea is much more common than previously thought. It is often caused by lingering memories from traumatizing events like hurricanes, tornados, fire, floods, childhood abuse, terrorism and politics.

People likely to have Central Apnea are veterans, children who are abused, anyone who has had a near-drowning episode or ether for tonsillectomy as a child. 50 other specific causes are identified by Dr. Drewry in her Sleep Apnea Self-Assessment Tool.

There are many effective treatments for PTSD but Dr. Drewry prefers to use EFT and EMDR for CENTRAL SLEEP APNEA because it is painless and her clients get entirely rid of central sleep apnea and the PTSD that caused it within 3 months. Here is a testimonial from Dan N., a licensed counselor working with law enforcement personnel.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SLEEP APNEA SESSIONS

woman lying in bed wearing CPAP machineIn 2008 Dr. Damaris Drewry worked with her first sleep apnea client using her Beyond Talk Therapy® method which includes her knowledge, 30 years of experience, intuitive gifts, EMDR, and Emotional Freedom Techniques™ created by Gary Craig. She has proven by working with over 200 sleep apnea clients, that Central Sleep Apnea is often caused by specific traumatizing events that can be reframed. Decisions made during traumatizing events are usually false but the body believes they are true until you reframe the event and the meaning given to it at the time it happened.

If you don’t know anything about EFT (otherwise known as “tapping”)  you might want to know it was approved in 2017 by the Veterans’ Administration as a treatment for PTSD.  It’s so easy you don’t have to learn it or understand it to book an online consultation or a session!
